Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced Monday that Walmart intends to build a distribution center in Warren County. The planned facility is described as a non-sortable distribution center, and the site identified in the announcement covers Turtlecreek Township and Monroe.
DeWine said the retail company expects 315 full-time-equivalent employees at the location. The jobs would generate an annual payroll of $19,530,000 by Dec. 31, 2029, according to the governor's statement.
Walmart's stated purpose for the facility is to support its next-day delivery supply chain network. The announcement as reported did not include a construction schedule, an opening date, a hiring start date or a cost estimate for the project.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project at a rate of 1.662 percent, according to the report. WDTN published the account on Sept. 28, 2026.
