Clinton County's retired teachers gathered Sept. 16 at First Christian Church in Wilmington for a program on Wilmington College's Therapeutic Riding Camp, the Wilmington News Journal reported.

Judy Sargent, the association's president, opened the meeting, and Nancy Rudduck presented the guest speaker, Erin Bales, who directs the occupational therapy program at the college. Kava Haus catered lunch.

Bales described a camp that offers children with disabilities therapeutic and recreational activities. According to the report, private donations support the program and participants attend at no cost. Three age groupings are served: pre-kindergarten through second grade, grades three through five, and teenagers. She also discussed the camp's place within the college and the surrounding community, then fielded questions from members.

The account does not indicate how many children take part, which conditions the camp accommodates, or how participants are selected. No budget or donation figures were given.
