Columbus has closed the 60-day public comment window for Zone In Phase II: Economic and Housing Opportunity, part of the city's zoning code update. The period ended October 24, according to a city bulletin.

City Council's third public hearing on the phase is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Council Chambers, 90 W. Broad Street. Council President Pro Tem Rob Dorans is hosting the session, which will center on a summary of what residents and stakeholders said during the comment period.

Residents may attend in person or follow the proceedings on YouTube or Facebook. Those who want to submit written testimony or sign up to speak can contact kbmccain@columbus.gov.

According to the bulletin, the input gathered will inform the team's review of the draft proposal and possible revisions before a final version goes to Council. The draft Phase II proposal, proposed zoning maps and an overview of the changes remain posted at columbus.gov/zoningupdate.

The city thanked participants who reviewed the proposal, completed surveys, attended meetings, visited the Zone In Gallery or shared comments with staff. Officials described the effort as part of modernizing Columbus' zoning code and preparing for future growth.
