The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department's Nov. 3 staff bulletin announced four quarterly BOLD values recognition recipients chosen at an Oct. 27 leadership meeting. According to the department, 116 recognition notes were submitted and the names were drawn at random. The listed recipients are Mataya Stokes of Community Centers, Shannon Prince of Policy, Volunteers and Business Relations, Mikar Em of Customer Service and Ricky Walsh of Golf. The bulletin says unselected names and new submissions will carry into the next quarterly drawing.

The same edition advertises a staff appreciation and holiday celebration on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dodge Community Center, with centers and programs closed so employees can attend. It also reminds staff that 2027 open enrollment closes Nov. 27, the Friday after Thanksgiving; employees seeking changes should use Dayforce, while those making none need not act. The bulletin states that benefits will continue into 2027.

Separately, OPRA plans a networking event Nov. 12 at Gahanna's Civic Center, 825 Tech Center Drive. The listing says lunch and tours are included, the event is free for OPRA members and registration is required by Nov. 5. The bulletin also notes that the Grow Her Game girls soccer leagues finished their season Oct. 15 at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, with medals and guests from the Columbus Crew and Ohio State women's soccer.
