Archbold Village Council gave final approval Monday to separate ordinances raising water and sewer rates, two of five measures the panel passed that evening.

Village Administrator Aaron Alt said the water increase adds $1.80 a month for a customer using 5,000 gallons, while sewer rises 75 cents for the same volume. Customers with six-inch and eight-inch meters face a 10% increase. Only usage is affected; the $14.25 readiness-to-serve charge remains unchanged.

The new rates take effect Jan. 1 and will appear on bills for December consumption. Alt said readiness-to-serve charges are due for review in 2028. He also reported that power rates for the two plants are locked in for another four years at 6.95 cents per kilowatt-hour, a figure he described as favorable compared with other communities.

Council authorized a change order with S&S Directional Boring of Bryan for the Ohio 2 waterline replacement near Sauder Village, keeping the completed installation at $420,000. Members approved a resolution letting the administrator execute a 2027-31 EMS agreement with Fulton County commissioners, and another permitting grant applications to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for playground equipment at Lions Club and South Street parks.

Village Engineer Dexter Krueger updated council on the planned 2028 roundabout at Fulton County Road 24 and Ohio 2. Its orientation was shifted south to increase distance from the intersection's gas station, and right-of-way acquisition authorization is expected in coming weeks.
