The Fairfield County Foundation approved $224,890 in grants for 20 local organizations in its second and final 2026 cycle, the Scioto Post reported on Nov. 4, 2026. The foundation's board approved the awards at a recent meeting, according to the report.
The grants cover a range of community needs, including food security, services for older adults, historic preservation, team safety and community arts. The money comes from several designated donor funds held by the foundation.
Recipients include Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio for home builds, the Pickerington Senior Center for a kitchen remodel, and The Senior Hub-Meals on Wheels Fairfield Co. for elevator installation. Other awards support the Pickerington Food Pantry's proteins grant, Pink Ribbon Good's healthy meals and rides to treatment for breast and gynecological cancer patients in Fairfield County, and Victory Hill Church's freezer replacement. The Fairfield County Heritage Association received funding for a historic tree preservation project, while Foundation Shelters was awarded for roof, gutter, siding, lighting and drainage work.
Arts and cultural groups also received support: Lancaster Handbell Ensemble, ProArteOHIO, Wagnalls Memorial Foundation, Millersport Community Theatre and Nostalgics Big Band. Additional recipients include American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, Berne Township Baseball Softball Organization, Fairfield Center for Independence, Fairfield County Baseball Complex Association, Lancaster Vineyard Church, Ohio Genealogical Society's Fairfield County Chapter and Salvation Army.
Amy Eyman, the foundation's chief executive officer, said local nonprofits perform important and innovative work daily and that the grants help advance it. She said the foundation was proud to fund a strong group of projects and expected a positive effect across the county.
