Signal Cincinnati’s Documenters notes, published Oct. 29, describe a Hamilton County commissioners meeting at which a by-leave item changed the county’s Rescue Plan Act Funding Plan. The measure reclassified state and local fiscal recovery funds so that $147,000 would be divided evenly between the Freestore Foodbank and the Council on Aging.
Reece said affordability was the leading concern and that residents were feeling financial pressure, according to the notes. Driehaus thanked both agencies for their partnership with the county. The notes do not detail how the two organizations will use the money or describe the application process; a documenter listed a follow-up question about how rescue plan funding works.
Separately, the notes say Reece credited organizers of the third annual Hamilton County State of Cancer Forum and Cancer Caucus on Oct. 21. They honored more than 40 people and more than 50 survivors, and the commissioners’ office planned to recognize medical reporter and cancer survivor Liz Bonis on Oct. 29.
