The Logan County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual legislative breakfast Thursday morning at Otterbein Green Hills, according to a Peak of Ohio report. Business leaders heard from elected officials and representatives supporting November ballot issues.

The event highlighted levies for Bellefontaine City Schools, the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Indian Lake Emergency Medical Services. Each issue's representatives briefly explained proposals and urged support, the report said. Other ballot items included a half-percent sales tax renewal for the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and roads and bridges, plus the Family Court judge race between Sarah Warren and Miranda Warren.

U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno, who entered office in January 2025, was the featured speaker. The report said Moreno, who has an automotive-industry background, addressed federal policy, economic development and matters affecting Ohio businesses and families. He listed priorities including the Pattern Book bill, curbs on large institutional investors buying single-family homes, ending federal taxes on tips, expanding the child tax credit and addressing child-care costs. He also discussed tariffs and possible economic effects.

Moreno cited high employment and income levels and low poverty in Ohio, and described the state's manufacturing base as an asset for attracting investment, according to the report. Attendees asked about living costs, electricity and power demands, and Logan County's economic development future.
