Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson took part in a hands-on subject-control seminar with area law enforcement officers in Bellefontaine this week, an event described as instruction in techniques for handling physical confrontations.
The session was held Wednesday at Ohio Fitness and Martial Arts on East Lake Avenue, according to Peak of Ohio. Officers from the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the Bellefontaine Police Department, the Kenton Police Department and the Russells Point Police Department attended, and participants worked through practical demonstrations of techniques used in the field.
Wilson, whom Gov. Mike DeWine appointed to the attorney general's post in June 2026, trained alongside the officers. His office oversees the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, which provides instruction to law enforcement agencies across the state.
Instructors Aaron Coey, Scott Sheeley and Jimmy Cosby also taught during the seminar. The Bellefontaine Police Department, the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and the Logan County Sheriff's Department presented the event.
