Wilmington residents are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the newly finished Davids Drive Trail. The Clinton County Trails Coalition and the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce are hosting the event at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, according to the Wilmington News Journal.
The gathering will take place at the Lytle Creek Greenway Pavilion trailhead, 575 Davids Dr., beside Wilmington Christian Academy. Attendees can park in the lot in front of the pavilion, and no invitation is required because the ceremony is open to the public.
Work on the paved multiuse path wrapped up in October. It picks up where the Lynn Lane Trail leaves off, carrying the route from Wilmington City Park along Lynn Lane to Davids Drive and then onward to the pavilion. Organizers describe the addition as a way to widen options for people who walk, jog or ride bicycles.
The city of Wilmington oversaw construction, and the newspaper reports the work was paid for with a Transportation Alternatives Grant awarded by the state of Ohio.
Questions about the trail or the ceremony can be directed to the Clinton County Trails Coalition by email or through its website, clintoncountytrails.org.
