The Cleveland Public Library Board of Trustees has approved a resolution that would let the system sublease land and construct a new Memorial-Nottingham Branch near Euclid Beach Pier, according to Signal Cleveland. Under the plan, the existing branch at 17109 Lakeshore Blvd. would remain open until the replacement is built, then be vacated and demolished. The Lakeshore Boulevard site would become part of Cleveland Metroparks' Euclid Creek Reservation.

The proposal is connected to planned Metroparks improvements at Euclid Beach, Villa Angela and Wildwood Park. A schedule in the resolution sets construction to start in 2028 and the land transfer to finish by 2030. Signal Cleveland reported that the resolution was tabled during a joint Finance and Human Resources Committee meeting and was not voted on there, while the board voted to suspend rules governing approval of the resolution. The account therefore leaves the measure's exact procedural status less than fully clear.

Separately, Signal Cleveland reported that CPL's Walz branch project is more than half complete, with occupancy targeted for June 2027 and public opening expected around August or early September after that. The Fleet branch renovation is scheduled for completion in early fall 2027, and plans for an AsiaTown branch at Mingyue Place have been submitted for city review.
