The Morrow County 9th Grade Career Expo brought ninth graders to the Morrow County Fairgrounds on Sept. 29. According to a submission from the Morrow County Development Office, the day centered on career exploration and direct contact with local employers and community groups. The Development Office and Morrow County OSU Extension coordinated the event, with support from Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.

Career sessions were divided into agriculture, health care, public service, skilled trades and technology. The submission stated that employers and organizations supplied equipment, demonstrations and activities so students could learn about work in those fields. Students also questioned professionals leading each session. School staff and roughly 40 community volunteers helped guide participants and run activities.

The submission listed volunteers from several agencies and schools, lunch and snack sponsors, and participating businesses including Adena Corporation, Consolidated Cooperative, Lincoln Center, Goodwill Industries, Lubrication Specialties, Marion Technical College, Avita and TriRivers Career Center. No attendance figure was provided.
